Packaging design in Christchurch

Labels, boxes and menus designed print-ready, for food, drink and retail businesses in New Zealand. Fixed price, artwork you own.

Packaging is the only design a customer picks up. It gets judged in about a second, at arm’s length, next to eleven competitors, under bad light — and none of that happens on a screen.

So the work is resolved on press. Artwork is built to a real dieline, colours are specified for the stock they are printing on, and the design is checked at the size it will actually be seen, not at 200% on a monitor.

What you get

Print-ready artwork
Built to your printer’s dieline, with bleed, marks and correct colour space.
The full set
Front, back, ingredients, barcode, compliance text — laid out, not left to the printer.
Range consistency
If there are six flavours, they read as one range and each is still findable.
Working files
You own them. Any printer can use them.
Print liaison
I talk to your printer so you do not have to translate.

How it runs

  1. The product and the shelf — What it is, who buys it, and what it sits beside.
  2. A fixed quote — Before anything is drawn.
  3. Design on the dieline — Real proportions from the first sketch.
  4. Press-ready handover — Files, specs and a proof check.

Questions

How much does packaging design cost?
From $700 for labels, boxes or menus, quoted at a fixed price before it starts. A single label is at the lower end; a range of six with different compliance text is more.
Do you do the printing?
No, and that is deliberate — you are free to use whichever printer quotes best. I supply artwork any of them can run, and I will talk to them directly.
What do you need from me?
The dieline or the packaging spec, your ingredients and compliance text, and any photography. If you do not have a dieline your printer will supply one.
Can you match my existing brand?
Yes. If there is no brand yet, that is a brand image or a logo job first — see the prices.
